Our baby deer is halfway here at 19 weeks, kicking and fluttering around, especially when mummy sits still {which isn’t often}. We’re pretty sure it’s a pink deer, legs were kept tightly crossed through the 30 min scan {she’s modest} … Continue reading

I’ve been dreading it all week…but it’s here, the morning of my 40th birthday. Its storming and grey outside, is this an indication of the forty’s decade for me? I certainly hope not! There is a small ray of sunshine, … Continue reading

I really need to end this Bahamian trip, holiday & posts. It has not been the ‘swanning around in clear blue water’ trip we imagined. The bikini made only a few appearances, summer dresses unworn, winter jackets purchased, the after … Continue reading

Another week has passed and we are still here, in port, in Fort Lauderdale. We had to move the boat from our birth at the pier {next to the Hyatt} to the ship yards for repair. Here’s the lovely view … Continue reading
I am here, almost in the Bahama’s, with time to start my personal blog.
Why ‘almost’ in the Bahama’s?
The short version. We purchased a boat, it didn’t make the carrier ship to Australia, as scheduled. So being Christmas/New Year it was possible for the four of us to fly to Miami with a grand plan to cruise around the Bahama’s for three weeks.
Instead, on the test run, the boat seriously broke down and we will end up spending two weeks in port. Don’t take it the wrong way. I am not complaining. We are super lucky to have the boat and it’s big enough for our two boys to climb all over and expel all that energy! We are docked next to the Hyatt (luckily) so we have access to their pool, ice cream bar and funky music!
So now, with plenty of time to tap away, I start our family chronicles!
I had two little pink lines on the indicator a month ago, I’ve had unusual pains during the long trip here but nothing since. I don’t ‘feel’ pregnant, but I look it! Yes I show at one week!
It’s nerve wracking not knowing if that little baby inside you is still growing. I have to wait till I get home for blood tests or a scan or I am going to know I lost the pregnancy while on an island holiday. All scenario’s emotionally draining, whether home or abroad.
It is now time to scream Happy New Year for everyone at home in Sydney. We have another 24 hours before the fireworks go off.
Happy New Year 2012 to you and your family.
I will post again soon, but you can always catch me at StylishLittleMe.com.au.
